The Spa and Sauna Co. has recently expanded to Las Vegas, with the acquisition of Spas By Renee.

Spas by Renee has joined The Spa and Sauna Co., which has locations in Reno, Sparks, Carson City, Santa Cruz and San Jose.

Spas By Renee History

Spas by Renee was previously owned by Casey and Renee Gibbs, who have dedicated their lives to the spa, hot tub, and sauna industry since 1978.

Renee and Casey stumbled into the Hot Tub industry after a career in show business with NBC and Disney on Parade. Renee, a dancer and aerialist, played Tinkerbell. Casey said when they relocated to Las Vegas they got a pool right away, and added an in-ground spa. On a trip to California, they spotted a portable hot tub and the idea for their business was born.

“Over the years we have been committed to the education and development of our business. When you select one of our spas for your home, we are confident that we have provided you with a product that will give you years of enjoyment, hydrotherapy, and service,” Renee had written on their website’s About Us page.

Looking to the Future

The Spa and Sauna Co. is looking forward to serving the Las Vegas community, with as much dedication and commitment as Casey and Renee had.

“We appreciate Renee and Casey’s decades of serving the Las Vegas area and intend to continue providing an exceptional customer experience,” said Scott Clark, owner of The Spa and Sauna Co. “Interestingly enough, in the early days of Renee’s spa career, she actually bought custom spa shells from Caldera Spas, which is linked closely to my family.”

The roots of The Spa and Sauna Co. run deep. Scott and Shelley Clark have been involved in the hot tub industry for decades. Shelley’s father David Ingram, a founder of Caldera Spas, is one of the Pioneers of the Hot Tub Industry. Scott opened his first store, South Bay Spa & Sauna, in 1990 in San Jose. The first store in the Reno area opened in 2002, with growth in additional Nevada and California cities occurring since 2013. The Spa and Sauna Co. is proud to announce that it has added two showrooms to The Spa and Sauna Family.

Hot Spring Spas of Santa Cruz and Hot Spring Spas of San Jose, both previously operated by Patrick Carstens and his V.P. Lynda Sisk, are now owned and operated by The Spa and Sauna Co., led by Company Owners Scott Clark and Shelley Ingram-Clark.

The Hot Spring Spas of Santa Cruz and San Jose showrooms have a 40-plus year history in the Santa Cruz and San Jose, California markets and are known as the industry leaders in the areas they serve. They specialize in Hot Spring Spas and Endless Pools, as well as Covana Covers for Endless Pools, and will soon add Big Green Egg Barbecues and Finnleo Saunas to the mix.

All of these products are well-known by The Spa and Sauna Company, as their Nevada showrooms have been carrying them for many years.

“We are so glad to bring Hot Spring Spas of Santa Cruz and San Jose into The Spa and Sauna Co. family,” said new owner Scott Clark. “When I first started selling hot tubs, over 30 years ago, I was working in Greater Bay Area and we started our business in San Jose, in 1990, so this has really come full circle.”

While their core products, Hot Springs Spas, Fantasy Spas and Endless Pools, will remain unchanged, Clark is excited to bring The Spa and Sauna Co. marketing and management techniques to the California-based Hot Tub showrooms.

“We are pleased to let you know that we will continue to offer the same great products, and sell and service the same great products. Best of all, the entire team at Hot Spring Spas of Santa Cruz and San Jose has been retained and is poised to grow,” said Clark.

“After 43 years of being in this incredible industry, we have realized it’s time to retire! Patrick and I will miss our wonderful staff, the many industry companions we have made and mostly our customers,” said V.P./General Manager Lynda Sisk as a farewell on their Google My Business page, just before the sale was finalized. “Thank you for making this such an enjoyable business and for all of your support. We have sold the business to another Hot Spring dealer who has been in the industry since 1990 and will continue to provide you with the quality service and products you have come to expect. Happy Hot tubbing!”
