The Spa and Sauna Co. recently went through a rebrand, creating a new logo, that enhances and solidifies our mission, vision and values, while also embracing our past, and allowing us to move forward.  

We’ve developed a new logo, that includes our new tag line, Enhance Your Space.  

Our new logo maintains important features from previous logos and will unify the company image across all our current and future locations. Don’t think of this as a re-brand, think of this as an Enhancement!

The COVID-19 pandemic has demonstrated the importance of having a space to be comfortable in. It has also given us as a company an opportunity to demonstrate we are a step above the rest when it comes to cultivating that space. We enhance the homes, style, and life of our customers by offering them the best service and selection of products to make their space one they look forward to spending time in.

We will Enhance Your Life, by providing you with the opportunity to enjoy your space, using The Spa and Sauna Co. products, either alone or with your family, friends and loved ones.  

We will Enhance Your Ownership Experience, by providing the best sales, customer service, service and learning opportunities available for the home leisure equipment products we sell, including Hot Tubs, Swim Spas, Saunas, BBQs, and more.  

A Bit of History

The Spa and Sauna Company has roots going back to 1990 when Company Owner Scott Clark opened his first store, South Bay Spa and Sauna in San Jose. CA. After marrying Shelley Ingram-Clark in 2000, the company moved to Reno. NV in 2002 as The Spa and Sauna Shop.  

But the hot tub story for the Ingram-Clark family goes back even further, to 1976, when Shelley’s father David Ingram, started building what has become one of the Leading Brands of Portable Spas manufactured today – Caldera Spas. 

Fast track to 2013 and a second Reno store opened, Reno Hot Spring Spas and Billiards. In 2015, a third Reno store was added – The Spa and Sauna Co. or The Spa and Billiards Shop. In 2017, that original store location became a warehouse and The Spa and Sauna Shop moved to Sparks. In 2019, 2 stores in San Jose and Santa Cruz were acquired, Hot Spring Spas of Santa Cruz and San Jose. Those stores had a history in the community that dates back to 1976, even using the name Pacific Water Works for a time, before becoming Hot Spring Spas of Santa Cruz and San Jose.  In 2020, a store that had been closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic was relocated and allowed us to double the size of our Reno flagship location at 9748 S. Virginia St. In Reno. In 2021, The Spa and Sauna Co. – Carson City opened.

Now with six stores in two states, and a variety of hot tub and swim spa brands to choose from, it became clear it was time to unify our branding and our message at all of our current, and all of our potential future, locations. Moving forward all of our locations will be The Spa and Sauna Co.

We’ve already created optimal ownership experiences, but we want to Enhance them even more.

Enhance Your Wellness and Your Life – We’ve enhanced the wellness of our customers, by encouraging our customers to use their hot tubs every day. We even have a form they can fill out online to win prizes if they complete our 30 Soaks in 30 Days Challenge. Our customers use their hot tubs daily and tell us it makes their lives better! They have told us using a hot tub every day has meant they have time to:  

  • Reconnect with their families 
  • Reduce stress
  • Rediscover hobbies that became painful over time 
  • Rehabilitate achy muscles 
  • Sleep better 
  • Reduce visits to chiropractors and massage therapists

Enhance Your Community – We’ve given back to our community, whether it’s by participating, or lending a truck, to local parades, sponsoring duck races to support the Humane Society or even serving as a drop off location for Toys for Tots, or supporting local athletes.  

We also support local veterans, and since 2018 have donated 3 hot tubs to deserving local veterans in Reno and Sparks, in conjunction with a spa manufacturer and the charity Wish for Our Heroes. We are currently searching for our next recipients. Read more and even nominate a deserving veteran, or yourself, hereOur first recipient once told us this program seemed too good to be true, but it isn’t. We love giving back to our community and supporting our local community.  

We recently checked in with our first 2 Hot Tub for Heroes recipients, Daniel Rogers of Reno and Kevin Vogt of Sparks. They were awarded hot tubs in 2018 and 2019.  

Both said they are still enjoying their hot tubs after all these years, and enjoy working with a company that gives back to its community.  

Speaking of the donation process, Kevin said “The process from start to finish was super easy. I mean, you guys set everything up. You came, you did all of it. Any questions I had, there’s always been someone there to answer it for me. New hot tub owner, myself, there’s a lot I didn’t know and every time I ran into something I couldn’t really troubleshoot myself, I’d call you guys and I’d get an answer immediately.”  

The Spa and Sauna Company looks forward to making many more donations to local veterans.  

Through these efforts, we’ve built long-term lasting relationships with people in our local communities, and we appreciate every single one of them.

Any negative feedback we receive, while rare, helps us improve any processes that need refining. And for that reason, we welcome that kind of feedback as well.

How we request feedback

We will ask for your feedback in a variety of ways, to make it most convenient for you. You might get a request by email, or you can provide it yourself on our website, public review pages or our social media channels.

When we ask for feedback

We send Customer Satisfaction Surveys and other emails, typically after a big purchase or a service call, asking about your experience. We also list reviews on our website here. You can leave a review directly on our website through that link, as well.

And, of course, we welcome reviews on Google, Facebook or any other review platforms you can think of.

Exploring the Freeflow Line of Spas

Did you know you don’t need a 220 Volt electrical hookup to have a hot tub? While most acrylic hot tubs require a 220V electrical hookup, a Freeflow hot tub and certain other hot tub models can be plugged directly into a regular 110 Volt 15 Amp outlet.

That means all you need to do is take home your Freeflow Spa and plug it in to get started having some fun.

Freeflow is a value spa line, which currently has 7 models to choose from, and can fit anywhere from 2 to 7 People. Every model is unique. There is the 2-seater Mini, the diamond-shaped Tristar, the circular Aptos, the large Monterey, and a few square and rectangular models to choose from that would suit a family with 4 or 5 seats.

Other advantages of a Freeflow Spa include:

  • Cost – Freeflow Spas tend to be less expensive than acrylic hot tubs due to their less expensive shell construction. You can take a Freeflow Spa home for significantly less than an acrylic spa. Lower cost means more people can afford a hot tub. And more hot tubs for more people is always a good thing!
  • Shell Construction – Freeflow Spas are called “Plug-and-Play” Hot Tubs or Unicast Hot Tubs. They are made from rotationally-molded plastic, which is also used to create everything from traffic cones to kayaks. This plastic is lighter than the materials used to make acrylic hot tubs. It is also less expensive to make, keeping the cost of your Freeflow Spa down.
  • Portability – Some of these spas are so easy to move you can purchase them “cash and carry.” All you need is a small pick up truck and you can purchase your Freeflow spa and take it home that day!
  • Water Care – At The Spa and Sauna Company, we recommend the @Ease Floating System for Freeflow Spas. You simply place the ball in the water and it floats. The system uses SmartChlor Technology to reduce the amount of chlorine and the amount of Shock Oxidizer needed. When the SmartChlor runs out, the ball flips the other side to alert you. With this system, you only need to use Shock Oxidizer once a month. It couldn’t get any easier!

In case you are exploring other 110V options, Sundance Spas, which makes acrylic hot tubs, offers a few hot tubs that will work in a standard 110V 15A outlet. These models include the Denali, Prado5, Dover, Tacoma and Jetsetter.

Other brands we carry also have a few spas that feature a 110V model, but they require 20 Amps. Don’t use these with 15 Amp outlet, as you will trip a breaker. Caldera Spas offers two 110V models, requiring 20 Amp outlets. Those 110 V 20A models are the Aventine and the Tarino. Hot Spring Spas also has some 110V 20A models. They are the Beam 110, TX and SX.
